BELIZE is the only country that has a foot in both the Caribbean and Central America and we are also unique for being the only country in Central America where English is the official language and our legal system is based upon British Common Law! You can learn Spanish if you want to, but do not need to....all government services, hotels, banks.....everything is in English! Property rights are the strongest here also due to the basis of our legal system.

AMBERGRIS CAYE is the No 1 tourist destination in all of Belize and of every tourist dollar spent in Belize, this small island generates 47 cents of every dollar! Voted two years in a row by members of Trip Advisor as the "Best Island In The World" we strive hard to retain our reputation for a laid back, friendly beach community with a strong emphasis on our environment - we have the 2nd largest barrier reef in the world and world class diving sites such as the famous Blue Hole!

However, our island is developing fast, government struggles to improve infrastructure to match the growth, and with maybe 5% of the island surface now developed, we have years to go before we become a "Cancun" which is a goal we struggle to avoid! With an additional 9 miles of new paved road heading north, this area of the island will begin to develop faster with a new town planned on 3,000 acres complete with schools, shops, hospital....there is an old runway 11 miles north created by an oil exploration company in the 50/60's which has just been announced by government to be developed into a new international airport for direct flights from Europe and elsewhere. However, all of this will take a few years to fund and get in motion but a decent array of properties and investments exists now....get in ahead of the curve!

CAYE CAULKER, our sister island to the south around 14 miles, reflects what Ambergris Caye was 15 years ago....sand streets, taxis are golf carts which give way to pedestrians, open air bars, restaurants, shops....the destination of packbackers from around the world as prices for everything is lower than Ambergris Caye but this island too shall follow it's larger sister with development....hopefully, controlled and regulated so this laid back island also avoids becoming a "Cancun'!

After your vacation is over, you are back home, at work, at your regular life.....you hear sweet whispers in your ears, a slight breeze on your neck, calling you back to these cayes!
